Our fitness classes are for people starting in pregnancy, through postpartum, and beyond. Each class is appropriate for all fitness levels, and we encourage you to come as you are. You are welcome here.

With custom designed classes, all of our classes are designed to embrace pregnant and postpartum bodies as they change. Please consult with your doctor and follow all healthcare advice before starting or continuing a fitness routine in pregnancy or postpartum.

Sunset Yoga

  • This evening practice invites you to slow down and settle into ease. With the soft glow of the setting sun, this class emphasizes grounding breathwork and restorative poses that soothe pregnancy and postnatal related tension in the back, hips, and shoulders. The practice closes with restorative shapes and an extended savasana to prepare the body for a restful night’s sleep.

    Class designed for: Students in pregnancy, postpartum, or parenthood, and their guests. All fitness levels welcome. Pre-crawling babies are welcome.

Baby & Me Yoga

  • Baby & Me Yoga is a grounding, feel-good vinyasa practice designed to support postnatal bodies and pre-crawling babies. This class focuses on full body strengthening, mobility, and flexibility, with mindful attention to the core and pelvic bowl. It offers a gentle, supportive space to move, reconnect, and feel at home in your body while bonding with your baby. Playmats and teething toys provided.

    Class designed for: Woman-identifying students who are postpartum or taking care of babies, and their guests. All fitness levels welcome. Pre-crawling babies are welcome and encouraged.

Stretch & Strengthen

  • Stretch & Strengthen is a supportive, vinyasa-based flow designed for prenatal and postnatal bodies, blending mindful movement with light weights and resistance bands to build strength and stability. The class focuses on functional, low-impact strength work, mobility, and gentle stretching, with thoughtful modifications offered throughout. This class weaves in pregnancy- and postnatal-friendly core engagement, pelvic floor awareness, and intentional sequencing to support the whole body.

    Class designed for: Students in pregnancy, postpartum, or parenthood, and their guests. All fitness levels welcome. Due to the use of weights, we do not allow babies in this class. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Prenatal Yoga

  • A grounding vinyasa class blending juicy, dynamic sequences with breathwork tailored to pregnancy. Each class begins with a brief check-in to build connection within the community, followed by trimester-specific modifications, birth-prep poses, and exercises to ease common discomforts. Think pregnancy-friendly core engagement, pelvic floor awareness, and flowing to earthy, sensual playlists. Build strength, flexibility, and connection with your body and baby while cultivating confidence for your pregnancy journey.

    Class designed for: Students in all trimesters of pregnancy, and their guests. All fitness levels welcome. If you’d like to bring a pre-crawling baby to this class, please reach out.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga

  • A grounding vinyasa class blending dynamic sequences with breathwork tailored to prenatal and postnatal bodies. DanceFit

  • This is your invitation to have fun, while getting fit! A high-energy fusion of fitness, rhythm, and community designed specifically for your journey through pregnancy and early motherhood. Whether you are expecting or have a pre-crawling baby, this class is your opportunity to engage in physical activity and connect with other mothers. The class features upbeat music and movements designed to get your heart rate up and promote well-being.

    What the Class Offers:

    • Safe & Effective Fitness: This class includes cardio and toning exercises designed to help you build stamina during pregnancy or safely recover your core postpartum.

    • Exercise with Baby: Participate in a workout without needing a sitter. Your baby can stay close in a carrier, on a mat, or in your belly while you focus on your health.

    • Social Connection: Opportunities are provided to connect with a supportive community of local mothers who are at a similar stage of life.

    • Open to All Levels: The routines are designed to be easy to follow, focusing on enjoyment rather than needing prior dance experience.

MEET THE INSTRUCTORS

  • Daniella Morales is an experienced birthworker, herbalist, and yoga teacher. For the past decade, she has combined her knowledge of plant medicines and ancestral wisdom to promote health and well-being for mothers and their babies through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum time. She has taught prenatal yoga for 10 years and has 2 amazing kiddos of her own. She knows how important it is to integrate mindfulness and movement into prenatal and postnatal life. In her free time, Daniella enjoys gardening, connecting with nature, and spending time outdoors with her family. She dedicates her work to all women in all phases of their lives, celebrating their strength, growth, and resilience.

  • Katy Yong has dedicated her life to the interconnected worlds of dance, wellness, and fitness. Her extensive background spans a wide array of dance forms, from Classical Chinese, Ballet and Modern Dance to Flamenco and Latin Rhythms, with training under luminaries like Alvin Ailey and global performances, including the prestigious Edinburgh Festival. She also holds a B.A. in World Arts & Cultures from UCLA. 

    For the last 25 years, she served as Director of Wellness at the Claremont Club & Spa, a role that profoundly shaped her approach to movement. This experience, alongside her dance career, inspired RitmoKÃĄ, her coaching philosophy focused on sustainable dance choreography, body conditioning, mindful movement, and injury prevention.

    Currently, she teaches a variety of classes in the East Bay at Shawl Anderson Dance Center and Mahea Uchiyama Center for International Dance.

  • You are welcome to sign-up at least one hour prior to the class start.

    We do not encourage drop-ins. If you arrive to class without signing up, we will do our best to accommodate you. Please arrive 15 minutes early.

    Our drop in rate is slightly increased from our standard rate. An additional fee of $10 may be charged at our discretion if drop ins become excessive.

    As a small business providing small class sizes, we try to diligently prepare for each student that comes in. Your cooperation in reserving your place in class ahead of time is much appreciated.

  • We provide all materials for our in-person classes.

    Mats and all yoga materials for adults are provided. Playmats and teething toys are provided for pre-crawling babies attending class.

    Water, tea, and light snacks are provided free of charge, and chilled beverages are available for purchase.

  • Brilliant Births offers a space for pregnancy, postpartum, and parenthood— but we also deeply believe that community is vital. We aim to create policies that reflect that:

    A student is someone pregnant or postpartum, or women-identifying parents. They may attend class whenever and however they like (we hope often!).

    A guest is someone attending class with a student, as their guest. Guests are friends or family of a student. Unlike students, guests are not currently pregnant or a woman-identifying parent; they may be dads or male identifying. ‘Guests’ as a category exist because we know how important community is in pregnancy and parenthood, and we believe that by allowing students to come with friends or partners we are encouraging community while providing safe fitness for pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond.

  • Pre-crawling babies are welcome in most of our fitness classes! Any classes babies cannot attend are clearly marked.

    What to know:

    • Pre-crawling babies only

    • We are on the second floor, with no stroller space at the bottom. Please plan accordingly by using a carrier. If necessary, our instructor can help you carry your stroller up the stairs.

    • Babies spend class on a play mat, directly next to the parent’s yoga mat. We provide sanitized teething toys.

    • We recommend chest carriers when bringing your baby to DanceFit classes. Playmats can be provided upon request.

    We want to support your fitness journey. If you have any questions, or if there’s anything we can do to make you more comfortable with bringing your baby or postpartum fitness in general, please reach out to us at info@brilliantbirths.com.

  • Our yoga classes are designed for all levels of yoga experience. Whether this is your first class, or you have years of experience, this class will meet you where you are.

  • We do not offer refunds for missed yoga classes. The first reschedule per person is complimentary; any future reschedules will incur a $10 fee, charged to your card on file.

    If there are less than three sign ups for this class, it may be cancelled. We will be happy to change your reservation to a different class, or you will be issued a code for credit. No monetary refunds are given, we apologize for any inconvenience.

    You may reschedule any fitness class up to 12 hours prior to the class start time.  Rescheduling after that will incur a $10 fee, charged to your card on file. We cannot offer rescheduling within 1 hour of class start time.

  • If you are sick, please do not come to class. You may contact us to reschedule your class up to 12 hours before class begins. Please see our change and cancellation policy for full details.

    For the health and safety of our students, Brilliant Births requests COVID-19 vaccination. Masks are not required but welcomed, and are provided in-studio.

  • We are so sorry for any inconvenience. Simply put, our fitness program has grown!

    As a part of our evolution, we have discontinued some of the offer codes that were previously used. We no longer advertise those codes, but we cannot erase printed or digital materials that have already been distributed.
