Introductory Workshop
Baby Sign Language gives children the opportunity to communicate long before they can verbalize their wants and needs.
Research studies show that signing with babies accelerates language acquisition, reduces frustration, enhances a child's self-esteem, and deepens the bond between parent and child.
The Introductory Workshop is a fun, hour and a half workshop meant for parents, expecting parents, and your child up to 2 years old to start the journey into sign language. Learn basic signs, and get tips and tricks on how to continue to integrate sign language into your child and your family’s life. Created and taught by Bill White, founder of Happy Baby Sign, who brings years of experience teaching sign language to parents and children.

The Introductory Workshop can be followed by Happy Baby Sign’s Six-Day Series. Build your signing vocabulary with themes like mealtime signs, colors, animals, family, bedtime, and more! Eighteen sessions are split into three different six-day series named after the primary colors: Red, Yellow, and Blue. No need to take them in order. Just dive in and start learning now. We sing songs, read and sign popular board books, like Brown Bear Brown Bear and Goodnight Moon, and share valuable tips to help your baby learn more than 100+ signs! Older siblings and even grandparents love the classes. It's a wonderful way to stay in touch with your extended family every week.
We divide up into smaller groups using Zoom breakout rooms. Families have the opportunity to socialize while having fun practicing their signs with interactive quizzes and games. You're welcome to turn your own video off and simply watch and listen while you are nursing or cuddling your little one to sleep.

Meet the Instructor
Bill White
Bill White is the founder of Happy Baby Signs and co-author of the internationally best selling book, Signs of a Happy Baby with Kathleen Harper. He has facilitated baby sign language programs at medical centers such as Kaiser Permanente, Sutter Health, and Dignity Health hospitals, childcare centers such as Stanford WorkLife, Cisco Systems, Children’s Creative Learning Centers, and Genentech, support programs at The Down Syndrome Association of Toronto, birthing centers, parents’s clubs, libraries, and parent resource centers such as Blossom Birth and Harmony Birth and Family. His virtual and recorded on-demand programs are available to parents around the globe. Bill is passionate about how signing greatly helps babies connect with their parents and is the proud father of two hearing sons who both sign.
